There is no threat to peace more constant, dangerous and peculiarly human that the injustices committed daily in god's name.

I've been thinking about the peace movement lately. I still have the same issue, the utter and conspicuous lack of a workable alternate solution. I try not to dwell on it. The last few days I've been less and less successful. Just one more day. Half a day, really. I'll try to write at least some of my thoughts down this weekend. At best I'll be coherent enough to get a nice editorial for the Bi-Co. At worse you'll just get another blog entry.

I watched the president's press conference tonight. Thought he handled himself very well, though I do wish they would stop referring to intelligence that they have no intention of elaborating on or providing to the public. I would think that they know the american public isn't going to take their word on it, so it just gives people a focal point for their anti-administration rants and detracts from the issue. The info about the continued intimidation of Iraqi weapons scientists was particularly troubling to me. No wonder Curious George is so confident about the need for war. Of course I'll be interested in what Colin Powel has to say. He is the voice of reason crying out in my desert.

As a happy accident I caught tonight's episode of ABC's Profiles From the Front Line. It's a pretty amazing show, and I think does a very good job of portraying what it's really like in the military. There will be six episodes in all. I hope they continue to be as compelling.
