It's been a while. Still watching the war on CNN like everyone else. Well actually right now I'm watching
Band of Brothers. Pretty good stuff so far, though any war movies make me uneasy of late. A few guys in my unit were just deployed, but who knows what that means for me. As usual, probably nothing. That's the hardest part of all this, the "probably". The waiting is torture.
Speaking of deployment, I read in the NY Times today that in France the graves of Brittish WWI soldiers have been vandalized by anti-war protesters. I've been to the US cemetary in Normandy, overlooking an empty beach, and have been moved to tears by the staggering rows of crosses there. If there are any ungrateful, misinformed French who are entertaining ideas of expressing their morally indignant ignorance of the sacrifice people have made to keep the world free, I'm catching the first space-a flight to Caan and kicking your ass myself. Don't think I won't.
